Red drum ='s yellow and kick. My guitar won't sync and harmonix won't rma them. since its past warrantee. What a shitty thing it is the 90 days. I'll try the paper trick in the battery compartment. I think I may have a defective guitar controller as well. It syncs up fine however after an hour or so of playing it just decides to shut off. After turning it back on it won't sync back up. Very frustrating. I've read in the forums at the RB site that xbox360 users have been experiencing similar issues.
